Introducing my co-host, Lindsay Pollard :: Meet Me in the Middle || Intro Part 2

Welcome to Meet Me in the Middle!  Thanks for joining the conversation.   In part 2 of our intro episodes,  we get to know co-host, Lindsay Pollard, as Joy probes into her  story a little bit further.  You’ll hear about the similarities  (preacher’s kids, pastor’s wives, baby of the family, love to talk and laugh, passionate about advocating for the marginalized and under-resourced )  as well as the diversity (black & white, denominational differences, extremely different career paths our early adulthood,  immigration in family of origin, east coast/west coast).

While unity in diversity is something many long for,  “Meet Me in the Middle”  is a step to bridge the gap from “longing for” to “living it out.”  What better way to live it out than having two individuals come together who don’t look the same, don’t worship in the same way,  didn’t experience the same upbringing or social circles yet  love Jesus and love each other dearly.  That’s unity in diversity.  We may not agree theologically on everything or have experienced life from the same kitchen window’s perspective, but we have a blast talking it out and bringing others into the conversation to engage in healthy dialogue.  Our prayer is that these conversations will  give you a little different perspective on issues such as racial tension, immigration, poverty, homelessness, religious differences, the physically or mentally challenged,  life-style choices and identity.

We welcome your voice to the conversation as we meet in the middle of it all.

My kids tease me sometimes that my definition of a situation going well is often described as, "It was 'life-giving' " -- meaning, it may have had some conflicts or uneasy moments or stress but all in all , something about it breathed life into the situation and the people involved...something of the heart was moved in a good direction. I'm all about LIFE ... life with my husband, life with 4 adult children, their spouses and 7 grandchildren (to date, that is :), life in our home and life in a wild adventure we tend to label "ministry". In reality , all of these categories mesh together to make up the "organic me". Relational , redeeming and restoring are some of my favorite words and they give life to my soul as I walk it all out with Jesus Christ, the Giver of all life. Profile Photo by: Melody Martin
