A Dance of Love and a Diamond Ring

A Dance of Love and a Diamond Ring

This is a glimpse into a love story that began before time itself.  A love so deep and so wide that I think it will take the rest of my life to tell it all.

Today’s story begins with a dance of love from reflections one morning on Damon Pond in Massachusetts,  August 16, 2017 …

My prayer for today ~

“Jesus, bless me with Your peace.”
(From Jesus Always by Sarah Young)

I see the light dancing along the water this morning in one little spot by the dock across the pond.  I’m drawn to it. Mesmerized by it …like gold shimmering in the sunlight but so much better.  It’s like the rays of heaven dancing down on earth to remind me God is here with me this morning.

He’s dancing on the water for me as if to say,  “Good morning!  I’m here! It’s a beautiful day!  I’m putting on a light show  for you to give you a taste of glory divine. ..My glory displayed for you this morning.  It’s going to be a great day! ”

Light show.   Electric.  Are they dancing in rhythm to a song He’s singing? Long and short sparkles of light.

Can I even fathom what is in store for me today or how breathtakingly beautiful heaven must be!?  This is a taste — a gift — a view behind the veil of the physical world into the spiritual realm.  It’s all happening together until one day the old way will be completely replaced with the new heaven and the new earth.  What joy awaits but what joy is here now.

My Father is good like that.   He gives glimpses of eternity to keep my mind centered on what is real …what will last …His Kingdom come …His will be done.

The water gently moves  reminding me the Spirit moves giving peace wherever He goes.  He blows like a wind over the water giving life and breath to all who enter into that rest.  Peace.  Joy.  Contentment.

The tender love of the Father is precious to me this morning.  As I walked down to the dock for the last morning conversation with Him on Damon Pond,  I needed Him to show me His glory this morning…a regular prayer and desire lately.

Jesus never fails to show up!  His love endures forever.  Great is His faithfulness.

“For the Lord your God is living among you.
    He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
    With his love, he will calm all your fears.
    He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.

Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT)

Taste and see that the Lord is good.  Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!” {Psalm 34:8 NLT}

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for this who love Him.”
But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit.  For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.”
{ I Corinthians 2:9-10  NLT }

And out of God’s deep love for me, He danced.  A Dance of Love.  A Dance for Joy.

But there was more …

On August 21, 2017 — Several “suns” later …

There were technical delays as I tried to finish this post and yet, in the waiting,  through another beautiful display of God’s splendor in creation, He seemed to seal His love with a diamond ring.

And I saw the Solar Eclipse of 2017 in a whole new light…a continuation of this beautiful love story from God.  The Bridegroom–Jesus–giving a token of His affection to His bride — those who love and follow Him.   A diamond ring.

It’s as if God put His thumb over the sun leaving just enough light to reveal the diamond ring …a sign for me of another seal of His love for us.   It’s just like the Psalmist  declared …“God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.  It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.” {Psalm 19:4-5}

Noah had his rainbow.  We have our diamond ring!

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
    The skies display his craftsmanship.
 Day after day they continue to speak;
    night after night they make him known.
 They speak without a sound or word;
    their voice is never heard.
 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
    and their words to all the world.

God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
    It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.

Psalm 19:1-5 (NLT)

“When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way…”

(A hymn from my childhood,  Trust and Obey | John H. Sammis )

My kids tease me sometimes that my definition of a situation going well is often described as, "It was 'life-giving' " -- meaning, it may have had some conflicts or uneasy moments or stress but all in all , something about it breathed life into the situation and the people involved...something of the heart was moved in a good direction. I'm all about LIFE ... life with my husband, life with 4 adult children, their spouses and 8 grandchildren (to date, that is :), life in our home and life in a wild adventure we tend to label "ministry". In reality , all of these categories mesh together to make up the "organic me". Relational , redeeming and restoring are some of my favorite words and they give life to my soul as I walk it all out with Jesus Christ, the Giver of all life. Profile Photo by: Melody Martin
